Club Business
There is a Board meeting the second Wednesday of each month at which time the club business is conducted and prepared to be taken back to the membership for a vote if necessary. There are also three quarter board meetings and one convention each year put on by a host club for all other central Ontario clubs. Any member and their spouse is may attend these events.

Will the real Elvis please stand up!

We run the Christmas Miracle in partnership with Oldies 1150 - CKOC and the three major shopping malls in Hamilton: Limeridge, the Centre Mall and Eastgate. New unwrapped toys and gifts are collected from drop-off boxes and distributed to major local charities to be passed on to needy children and families.

Each year we are responsible for distributing between 6000 and 8000 toys and gifts. As well, we collect nonperishable food goods to donate to local food banks.

The East Hamilton Optimist Club was chartered in December 1971. The membership is made up of people like yourself, salsemen, tradespeople, factory workers, managers etc.

We hold dinner meetings at:

NORMANHURST COMMUNITY CENTRE (Barton St & Stratherne St)

We meet on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. If there is a fifth Wenesday in a month, this is a spousal night when both you and your spouse are welcome. Members and spouses are expected to pay for their own dinners, as funds we raise are directed solely to the programs we run and sponsor.

Fun Stuff
Our club has a family picnic once a year at which family members are welcome. We also have a mini-putt tournament , a steak and corn roast (for members & their spouses; a relaxing day away from the kids), and more!

What we do and why
We bill ourselves as "friend of youth" because we help sponsor many sports and educational endeavours to encourage youth to become better citizens.
